Organizations will collect new and gently used coats and other pieces of outerwear from Monday, October 17 through Friday, December 30
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, October 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Flame Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical, in partnership with The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Detroit (SVdP) today announced the organizations will collect new and gently used coats and other pieces of outerwear during its "Bundle Up Michigan" coat drive from Monday, October 17 through Friday, December 30. The drive will benefit local citizens in need of warm winter wear.
Items, which can include adult and children-sized coats, snow pants, hats, boots and gloves or mittens, can be dropped off in bins at:
· Flame's Warren headquarters (2200 East 11 Mile Road),
· Flame's Fraser showroom (32314 Utica Road),
· Flame's Riverview showroom (11781 Longsdorf Street), or
· One of the SVdP's 11 thrift store locations (please see below)
Tax refund receipts will be available to donors upon request.
"We want to make sure all metro Detroiters have a coat on their back and gloves on their hands this year," said Gary Marowske, president of Flame, Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical. "During the winter, it is our priority at Flame to ensure that all metro Detroiters stay warm."
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Detroit is a human service organization based in Detroit that provides emergency assistance to individuals. Coats donated during the drive will be sold, at drastically reduced prices, at the organization's thrift stores.
"The demand for warm clothing and coats has skyrocketed recently," said William Brazier, executive director of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul. "Traditionally, our Thrift stores have been a main source for our neighbors in need to purchase quality, low-priced winter wear. We are grateful for the partnership with Flame. It will allow us to provide better assistance to those in need this winter."
