Michigan Lean Consortium event at DTE Energy
The Michigan Lean Consortium, along with the Pawley Learning Institute at Oakland University, is hosting a benchmarking event April 21 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at DTE Energy in Detroit.
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI, April 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Michigan Lean Consortium (MLC), along with the Pawley Learning Institute at Oakland University, is hosting a benchmarking event April 21 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at DTE Energy, located at One Energy Plaza in Detroit. The focus of this event is on the role of leadership in a continuous improvement culture. DTE Energy recently won the best improvement program in 2009 from the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC).
There will be a question and answer panel discussion with the DTE Energy leadership, including Gerry Anderson, president and chief operating officer; David Meador, executive vice president and chief financial officer; and Jason Schulist, director of Continuous Improvement. Attendees will learn from DTE Energy's lessons in the role of leadership, understand why it's important to have leaders who truly understand the roles of all employees and take these lessons back to their own organizations to help Michigan's economy.
An optional lunch will follow at attendee's own expense. The cost is $15 for the event or $45 for an annual membership, which allows members to attend all MLC events for free. The mission of the MLC is to offer a diverse network of knowledgeable lean professionals who come together to share innovative practices. The organization aims to create a lean culture in Michigan to ensure sustainable competitive advantage, which could translate into healthier businesses that offer more job opportunities leading to economic growth in the state.
The charter members of the MLC include: Amway, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE Energy, Johnson & Johnson, The Lean Learning Center, Northwestern Michigan College, the Pawley Learning Institute at Oakland University and the Michigan Shingo Prize through The Right Place.
