High Success Rate in Michigan Drug Treatment
Narconon Michigan achieves one of the best drug treatment success rates in the state.

ALBION, MI, October 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With an estimated 826,000 people in the state of Michigan who are struggling with substance abuse, the solution lies within drug treatment. But while around 60,000 people are going into programs in the state of Michigan every year, the typical relapse rates of most drug rehab programs are sitting at 40-60%. This means that there are many addicts in the state who are not able to successfully recover with specific types of treatment.

There are however many successful types of programs in Michigan that do achieve high success rates for permanent sobriety from addiction. One such program is the Narconon program in Michigan; known as Narconon Freedom Center.

The Narconon program has been in operation in the state for more than 7 years now and has successfully treated hundreds of clients in Michigan and all over the Midwest and northeast for substance abuse problems. Narconon is a long-term residential drug rehab program that achieves a more than 70% success rate for permanent sobriety from addiction.

Nick Thiel, Director of Intake at Narconon Freedom Center explains why Narconon succeeds where other treatment can fall short. "Unlike many programs, Narconon utilizes a physical component to handling addiction and actually has a detoxification process that removes drug residues from the body and reduces physical drug cravings," he says. "We also have a mental and emotional component to our treatment which gets into the underlying reasons why a person starts using drugs in the first place and raises the ability of the individual to help them stay off drugs permanently."

According to the most recent report from the Office of the National Drug Control Policy the most common average age that an individual starts abusing drugs in Michigan is 17 years old. In addition, 42% of addicts in the state are addicted to alcohol while the second largest percentages are abusing marijuana. There are still averages of more than 200,000 in Michigan that are in need of drug treatment.
