Web Design Company Offering Free Web Site to Michigan Business
Greenlite Web Solutions launches a web contest throughout Michigan offering a free web site to a deserving business.
EAST LANSING, MI, May 29, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michigan's difficult economic times have brought their share of bad news for small businesses in the region. However, they have also given some businesses a compelling reason and opportunity to give back to the community when help is so badly needed.
Starting on May 20, GreenLite Web will celebrate its one-year anniversary by offering its web development services to a deserving organization free of charge. Their goal is to find a Michigan small business, association or non-profit that would benefit from having a new web site or design, and implement it for them.
Brian Azar, Vice President of GreenLite Web, explains how the idea came about.
"A common concern we hear from small business owners is that they can't afford to spend money on their web sites, especially given the current economic climate. We believe quite the opposite is true. In today's internet-driven business environment you can't afford not to have an up-to-date, professional-looking web site."
A recent survey of small businesses across 19 industries, conducted by Netflare, revealed that
23 percent of web sites have not been updated since they were launched about four years ago.
Azar finds this statistic revealing. "The web site is the first element of your business that people interact with. Whatever impression they get from it will probably transfer to your overall business as well. An old, unprofessional-looking web site with outdated content is often worse than no web site at all. This led to our idea of the free web site contest so we can do our part to help Michigan business."
The contest launches on May 20. Any Lansing region small business can apply by going online to www.greenliteweb.com/contest and submitting a video or short story that explains how a free web site redesign would help their business. Site visitors can read and view the uploaded submissions and vote for their favorite candidate. The GreenLite team will select a winner from among the three top-ranked applicants.
Azar does not doubt the positive impact the free web site will have on a Lansing business. "During our first year in existence the GreenLite web site has been our most successful marketing tool. We are looking forward to replicating this success for our winning candidate as well."
