Global Projects Elects Karolyn Hart as Vice-Chair
Detroit NonProfit Elects Windsor Ontario Karolyn Hart to Board of Director
DETROIT, MI, March 21, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Global Projects Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Karolyn Hart to the role of Vice-Chair for the upcoming 2009 year. Karolyn Hart is a seasoned executive with experience in business development including business process re-engineering, technology, and television including the creation and development of a nationally broadcast show.
She is currently working as the Business Development Director at Wireless Ronin Technologies and is the founder of several active organizations including:
- The Harkaro Group: a bi-national group of individuals working to identify opportunities and develop new products, services, and experiences that will create positive gains in the economies of the cities in which it operates. (www.harkaro.com )
- Thrive: an organization dedicated to inspiring women to achieve more in their lives and communities. (www.livewiththrive.com)
Global Project's Founder, Dr. Sabrina Black connected with Mrs. Hart over a year ago through mutual work being completed for Thrive.
"Over the last year I had the opportunity to work closely with Karolyn and see her interest. In late 2008 through a series of discussions I discovered that Karolyn's vision and heart aligned with Global Projects. We asked her if she would consider being on our board."
Mrs. Hart explains her enthusiastic acceptance of the opportunity.
"It's no secret that my original life aspiration was to work with children in Africa while my career took me in a different direction. I have always remained connected to giving back to my community and for the last five years I have been extremely active through Detroit and Windsor. Through my work with The Harkaro Group I learned about the Underground Railroad and the horrors of slavery both in the past and present. I never expected to find an organization that was dedicated to the local community, to helping children in Africa, and to fighting human trafficking. I am absolutely delighted to be a part of the Global Projects team and I am excited for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those that need it most."
